A complete run of Minotaure, the Surrealist-oriented magazine published in Paris between 1933–39. The cover of the first issue was designed by Pablo Picasso and included the seminal essay “Picasso dans son élément” by André Breton illustrated with photographs by Brassaï. Later issues’s covers were designed by artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, Henri Matisse, and Max Ernst. This groundbreaking periodical is one of the more complete documentary sources on the French avant-garde of the 1930s.
