Published on the occasion of the recent Gagosian Gallery exhibition Go Figure, this catalogue examines the figure as a node of inspirational exchange and traces the fertile interaction of painting and photography in Modern and postmodern times, primarily through the depiction of female subjects by male artists, whether as classical archetype or popular artifact.
