Urs Fischer has installed Bliss at 39 Spring Street, New York, New York.

On view November 17 through December 31, 2017.

Bliss, a larger-than-life sculpture of Katy Perry by Urs Fischer, was born of a collaboration between the two artists after Katy approached Urs to create a sculpture for her last album release. She envisioned the unguarded pose for the bust he created in white plasticine (a soft and malleable non-drying modeling clay) whose interior consists of a spectrum of brightly colored modeling clay around a structural support.

The form of the sculpture will be continually in flux over the coming weeks, subject to endless fragmentations and reconfigurations through the interventions of visitors, who are free to add to and subtract from the sculpture as they wish.

Bliss is being exhibited in a pop-up space at 39 Spring Street in SoHo. The public is invited to participate from 10AM to 8PM ET daily until the end of the year.
